Well, the Needham little league opening day was another great success
this year! The teams of coaches and volunteers including Rick Tacelli
and Stephen Mortimer put on an incredible event that is fully supported by the entire community.
The 2017 Needham Little Opening Day was Sunday April 30th at Defazio Park.
The teams had have their annual parade from Green's field at 11am and arrived at DeFazio around 11:30am to start the festivities. The weather held for the morning with some rain moving in for the afternoon. Very similar conditions to the 2016 opening day.
Hanley Ramirez had time to throw out the first pitch before homering off the Cubs at Fenway
The highlight of the 2017 Opening Day had to be Red Sox player Hanley Ramirez who made it over to Defazio to throw out the first pitch! Along with Hanley, Wally the Green Monster was on hand to cheer on the Needham teams at the start of their season.
The Muzi Chevy team is so proud to be a part of this annual event. It is a impressive display of community engagement and we look forward to it each and every year.

Needham Little League Opening Day Archives From 2016
2016 was particularly exciting because Wally the Green Monster and Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Jim Rice were on hand! The team from Muzi Chevy was on hand displaying a beautiful new Chevy Pickup Truck as and had games, sunflower seeds, drinks and Big League Chew for the all the players to win. The first pitch will be thrown out at 12:30pm at Small Field and the Rocket Travel team will on the big diamond at 1:00pm.

The 2015 Needham Little League Opening Day was a great success! The weather was warm and sunny and the turnout was huge. Red Sox great Luis Tiant was one hand, so was Wally the Green Monster, and of course the Muzi Chevy team was there to entertain with a softball toss game and a cornhole toss.THE PRIZES!
These all went very quickly. Even the boxes were a hit. We will have to bring more next year.

The Muzi Chevy team was on hand for the 2014 opening day and we had a blast playing corn hole toss and giving out Big League Chew, Red Sox calendars and other prizes to all of the players, their friends, and family. We will be back again this year with a new game for the kids to enjoy as well as some fun prize options!

We also had the brand new 2015 Chevy Colorado on display for all participants. GM has made a huge return to the mid-size truck segment with the new Colorado, winner of the 2015 MotorTrend Truck of the Year.
Muzi Chevy is proud to remain an active member of the Needham Community and Needham Business Association. We believe that giving back to the community through charitable work and community involvement through organizations like the NBA makes Needham stronger.
The Needham youth baseball league is a non-profit organization that is entirely volunteer based, so the sponsorship of local businesses is critical to the success of the league. Muzi Chevrolet has chosen to sponsor at the Platinum level this year. Its sponsorship will help the league procure uniforms, hats, balls, and assist with the costs of umpires and field maintenance.
We are looking forward to the 2015 Needham Little League Opening Day! Our dealership is sponsoring the Longhorns and the Pirates this year, but we want to wish all the Needham Youth League teams good luck. We hope you all have a great season!!
