The first ever 5 door Chevy Cruze is on its way to Massachusetts this year! The 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatchback is slated for release in the fall of 2016 and, we think, our Boston, Newton and Waltham Chevy customers are in for a treat.



Although the hatchback has existed in various incarnations across the pond, the timing is right for the 2017 Cruze Hatch release in America. According to Alan Batey, President of GM North American and Global Chevrolet, there was a 9% increase in small hatchback sales in the US in 2015.

So, What Does The 2017 Hatch Offer?

The new 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatchback sits on the compact global platform and offers a unique roof line and a unique new tail end. The hatch is incredibly spacious in back with 22.7 cubic feet of leg room, besting both the Ford Focus and Hyundai Elantra by over 2 inches! and if you are looking for storage space, fear not, the Cruze hatch has you covered with over 47.2 cubic feet of cargo room.

With over 47 cubic feet of storage room, the new Cruze can accommodate even the most incorrigible pack rat.

It Has The Looks, But Does It Have Any Substance?

The new Cruze is powered by a 1.4L turbocharged 4 cylinder that can be paired with either a manual or automatic transmission and produces 153 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. The new Cruze shed over 200lbs and has a stiffer more responsive ride than the previous generation. Oh yeah and it is projected to get an impressive 40 MPG Hwy.

While the current Cruze is offered in L, LS, LT, and Premier, the new Hatch will only be available in LT, Premier, and with an RS appearance package upgrade.

The Latest In Technological Innovation

The new Cruze comes equipped with all of the latest Chevrolet MyLink infotainment options including, the popular Apple CarPlay and Android Auto music applications, and Chevy's lauded new 4GLTE WiFi system. The 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatch is also equipped with all of the latest safety technology such as forward collision warning, lane assist, rear cross traffic alert, a high strength steel cage, and 10 standard airbags.
