So let's take a look at the numbers on Chevy's flagship compact car. The current model runs on a 1.8L 4 cylinder powerplant that produces 138 horsepower and gets 35MPG on the highway. The new 2016 Chevy Cruze will have a 1.4L 4 cylinder engine that will produce 153 horsepower and get 40 MPG highway. That is an improvement that our customers from Boston, Cambridge, Norwood, and Framingham can certainly appreciate!
Chevy improved the fuel economy of the new Cruze through a combination of engine efficiency and by dropping some excess weight. In fact, the new 2016 Chevrolet Cruze is 250 lbs lighter than the prior year.
